Bort Agency Inc. was founded in Gruver, TX in 1979 by Micheal Babbs, Kenneth Irwin, and Ralph Bort.  Several years later, Mike bought out the other founding fathers to run the agency on his own.  Over the last 4 decades Bort Agency has continued to grow, becoming one of the top insurance providers serving the residents of Hansford County and the surrounding area.

In 2017, the agency became known as Bort Insurance Agency, LLC when Mike's son-in-law, Chris Spivey purchased the agency after 15 years of dedicated service as a crop insurance producer.  Joined by his son, Creed in 2022, Chris and his team have continued the legacy started by Babbs, Irwin and Bort more than 40 years ago.  

Chris Spivey

Life-long resident and Gruver native, Chris Spivey started working for Bort Agency in 2002.  In 2017 Chris purchased the agency from his father-in-law, Mike Babbs and rebranded the company as Bort Insurance Agency, LLC.  Over the last 21 years Chris has been an integral part of the agency's growth and success.  Chris and his wife, Eva still live in Gruver, TX where they raised their two children, Hadlee and Creed.

Creed Spivey

Born and raised in Gruver, TX by parents Chris and Eva Spivey, Creed joined the team at Bort Insurance Agency, LLC in 2022.  He is a licensed P&C Insurance Agent specializing in Personal & Commercial Insurance, and proudly serves as the Office Manager. 

Adi Duran

Adi Duran joined the agency in 2017 as a Customer Service Representative.  Also born & raised in Gruver, TX, Adi is the smiling face you see when you stop by the office & the helpful voice on the other line when customers call the agency.
